Question: What are the common mistakes you see marketing people make?

Evan: There are two that I think are the most common. They often speak about their company as the hero. They talk about how awesome they are and they go on and on about their product service but in reality, people are not looking for a hero, they’re looking for a guide. 

The second mistake is that they don’t measure any of their marketing campaigns. They don’t put in any sort of analytics in place in order to measure that. 

Question: What are the key qualities of being a great leader?

Evan: I think the keys to leadership are empathy, courage, self-awareness.

Question: How do you go about fixing your mistakes fast or understanding why something is not working?

Evan: You just have to manipulate one, be able to time it to be patient, which is really hard to do when it comes to money. 

Question: What do you think people can do at the time of adversity? 

Evan: Whenever that stressful scenario comes back we know exactly how to respond in that scenario. So it’s in training that we really prepare ourselves for current circumstances.
